Autopsy Report: Mohammed Tariq Zaid, Iraq ("natural death") (death certificate included)

Autopsy No.: ME 03-367 (EPW#2); enemy prisoner of war in US custody. On or about 8/22/03, detainee was noted to be lying on the ground with shallow respiration and decreased sweating. Emergency medical services were summoned and he was noted to have temperature of 102 and decreased oxygen saturation. He was transported to Kadamiya University hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival. Cause of Death: Heat Related (heat stroke). Manner of Death: Accident. Specific autopsy findings of dehydration and hypoxia and obtundation. Temperatures in the area were reported to be greater than 110 degrees.
